TEAM PROJECTS
For Spring 2001, this class has a unique opportunity---design and
implement a core prototype for a real website
www.hamburg.mi.us
The opportunity comes to us from
Hamburg Township, Michigan where the township government is planning
a new website to provide many township
services more efficiently and cost-effectively.
Mr. Howard Dillman, the Township Supervisor, a Kent graduate himself,
has approached the instructors/departments about this project and
will provide a great deal of useful information on the planning,
requirements, needs, and wants for the site. (See letter
from Howard, a word document).
We will divide the class into 6 teams of 4 members each. Each
team will take on one of the sub-tasks listed here.
Department heads and the future webmaster from Hamburg Township
will provide support for the teams. The instructors
and TA will guide the project,
help with the division of duties, supervise the overall design,
and enforce the milestones.
The goal: all subtasks will integrate into
a cohesive site of which everyone can be proud,
within the available time for the class.
The final product will be a working prototype that can be tested
and deployed as the core township site upon which to expand.
