Paul, Thank you for affording me the opportunity to participate in one of your classroom projects. In essence, what I am looking for is a companion site to http://www.teamintraining.org/chap_find?chapter_id=51 What the organization does is raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. To help raise funds, they train people to participate in ultra distance events (such as marathon runs, century bike rides (100 or more miles), and triathlons (Ironman Distances). The site that I am interested in does the bike ride component for team in training. There will be approximatley 35 participants this year for the particular event for this website. This website will serve two purposes; (1) to provide a log of what we did to prepare; and (2) a means to help us raise funds by directing potential donors to the site. The contents will be twofold: (1) materials related why we do this; and (2) materials to serve as a "training log" for our 35 participants. The first component is basic and is related to the aforementioned website. The latter is the interesting one. You see, we would like to have a "primary" area that is updated by only one person (me) and a "secondary" area that can serve as a discussion forum or related topic postings (related to the training for this event). Further, there should be individual links to the donor page at the original website (http://www.active.com/donations/campaign_public.cfm?key=tntnoh). We are hoping to have high resolution images from our training and from the event itself as well as the possibility of having some video of the event. With respect to the user accounts, security, login requirements, etc., our only requirement is for upto 35-40 user accounts (with the rights to post to the forum area) and 1-5 accounts that can post to the primary training area -- I will know more in 2-3 weeks on this. Perhaps in the future, we can allow each participant to add their own page for their own personal fundraising (i.e. a personal appeal for fundraising -- but we can talk about this later). I will serve as the intermediary on this project -- if other information is needed, then I can bring those people to the students. I can formalize in a Word document early next week if you like.
