Web Design and Programming Discussion

Web Design and Programming Minor

Introduction

The Web Design and Programming (WDP) minor provides an integrated curriculum in computer science and visual communication design to develop professionals in Web publishing, in the design, structure, programming, and maintenance of Web sites; and in multimedia, security, and privacy aspects of the Web. As an enabling technology, the Web is increasingly important in almost every discipline. The minor will enable CS and VCD majors to obtain a minor in an important area where well-trained people are in great demand.

The WDP minor is attractive to CS and VCD majors who need to take just 18 and 19 additional credit hours, respectively, to satisfy the minor requirements.

The courses in the WDP minor are also available to students from other departments on a space-available basis.

The courses WDP-I, WDP-II, and WDP-Studio can also be attrative to graduate students.

Note, the following requirements, as approved by the University, are being revised to reflect the true spirit of the minor. See this document for the new requirements. Because the minor is not official yet for CS majors, students who want to sign up for the minor can do it through CCI by contacting Professor Jerry Kalback (jkalback@kent.edu) at VCD
