Course Overview
Jointly offered by the Computer Science (CS) and Visual Communications Design (VCD) departments at Kent State University, this course introduces Web concepts and teaches the creation of Web pages and Web sites. This course is provides a hands-on approach and is designed for learning through doing. Computer Science, programming, Visual Communication, graphic design, networking, and application aspects of Web publishing will be covered. This course is designed to show students how to design and create a Web site as part of a team.
This course is part of the Web Design and Programming minor offered by both the CS and VCD departments. This minor is available to Arts and Sciences majors and VCD majors. Other students interested in this minor need to contact their own department to obtain permission. For details see Requirements for CS Students and Requirements for VCD Students .
For CS majors to take this WDP-I class, a prerequisite exists for those who want to take the WDP Minor. If you are simply going for the WDP sequence and are not interested in WDP minor, see the instructor for permission to register.

Upper level CS ugrad may take this class at the 5K level under the combined BS/MS degree program. Enrollment for WDP-1 is limited to about 24 students.
